Winery Marchisio
![]() | |
Sergio Marchisio is a pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in the Roero: the first to make sparkling Arneis using the classic method, the first to vinify Nebbiolo in amphorae, the first to offer (again in amphorae) Pinot Noir as well, from one of the most prestigious areas of the Langhe, Bussia di Monforte d'Alba.
Their sons, Fabio and Ivo, represent the future of the Marchisio Family, of farming tradition but open to the most fortunate experiments. A revolutionary vocation, theirs, witnessed by the adoption of the screw cap even for long ageing bottles.
The secret? The ancient loyalty to the Roero land, interpreted in the most ecological way: Bio certification and strictly biodynamic, steinerian viticulture. A mission, absolute respect for the environment: solar panels to power the cellar and 'fill up' visitors' electric cars.
The latest passion is amphorae, in homage to the rediscovery of the Caucasian origins of wine. A 5000-year history, well motivated by the unique alchemy of ceramics: the perfect 'shell' for wine to grow, giving it time to expand in depth, but without giving up its youthful freshness.
